Born in New England
Grew up in Wellesley, went to school in Concord. This isn't a region he's passing through — it's the one he's from.
After studying philosophy at university in Scotland he came back to Massachusetts always drawn back by its charm and history, and a desire to work on buildings he grew up around, which shows up as an instinct for what belongs in a New England home and what doesn't. Fusing the old and the new so the result outlives the argument between them is the ultimate goal.
Renovation means being in someone's house for weeks and months at a time, and that's treated as a responsibility: the home looked after as if it were his own, clear communication throughout, discretion taken as given. Projects end with strong partnerships.
Background includes site supervision for high-end builders and lead carpenter for an architectural millwork company, on kitchen renovations and millwork installation. Sober since 2017 — the same discipline, applied to the work.
